Re: Contact Search

Hello rms,
Can you provide some specific examples of this?

Thank you,

Re: Contact Search

Hi,

Keep in mind that the search bar looks into all contact fields on the contact record. So, for example if you entered in "Texas" you will get results for any contact that has the word "Texas" on any contact field, note or history.

Searching on the word "Texas" would bring back all three of the contacts below...

Joe Blow

ABC Company

Austin, Texas

Jane Smith

Texas BBQ Co.

Los Angeles, CA

Lance Parker

Yellow Jersey Bikes

Note: Lance is excited about his new Texas plant...

Would love to hear if this is what you were expecting?

Re: Contact Search

It would be good to have some search filter possibilities, i.e. search in Contact Name only or search in Company Name only.

I am getting over 100 results with the majority of my search requests.

Hello Dan ,

Try searching by last name and report what you find ?

I understand that it seems overwhelming and frustrating when so many come up from the search thatt you perform. Wha t you could do is submit your idea at the link below.

Hi Rodney,

When searching for the last name then yes it filters out better but I don't know the last names of all my contacts. It doesn't do a bad job for company name either but depending on whether you have a lot of contacts at the same company depends on how useful this is.

I guess I would always search for first name initially as this tends to be what I know best of my contacts.

Thanks,

Dan

Re: Contact Search

Hello Dan,

I've seen that searching by the last name brings up the contact better. I'll make sure I submit a feature request to be able to search on first as well because as you said you may not know the last name.
