BETA IN GENERAL

Hello.....I am a 15 year ACT user that in search of mobility jumped ship last to Sales Force in search of an immediate mobile option. I returned to Act because I think it is better, I am of course more familiar with it and Sales Force is not cost effective. For the interim I have been using Hand Held Contact. Did anyone at Sage look at their competitors before starting on this BETA? Virtually everything you can do on your desktop you can do quickly on a handheld device with their programs and it all syncs back exactly to where it should be on the desktop. Handheld has had some issues with duplication and such but everything is right where it should be.

The first thing I went to do with this beta was an activity. There are no choices, meeting, call todo.......so what are these going to sun back as or to? Second thing was to check my task list? Don't see one. Went back to enter an activity and canot seem to find anywhere were I can link it to a contact? If the fields are not the same asnthe desktop how is anything going to sync back correctly? When I look at my desktop things thIngs are not where they should be. This seems very confusing......

Re: BETA IN GENERAL

I want to first thank you for the feedback. What device are you using that you do not see these options so I can test this on my end? I am sorry for the confusion that you are having. I am sure that the competitors were researched before the Beta Test was initiated.

Re: BETA IN GENERAL

Ok. I am still going to test the process out that you have mentioned so I can give you some sort of feedback at least.

Re: BETA IN GENERAL

I have tested this process out on the IPhone and the IPad and on the IPhone I see what you are seeing with not being able to select the type of activity you want. With the IPad when you set an activity up you can select a type of activity you want, but it is under the event name. It does not give you the exact names as you may be used to, but at least you are able to specify what it is. In the IPhone you can specify the type of activity it is within the notes section of the activity. This gives you at least a workaround for the time being.

I am going to push this up to get more verification on this feedback. This way I can give you a full explanation on this.

Re: BETA IN GENERAL

Thanks Larry..... it just does not make sense....if one can not select the same activity as the desktop....or any activity for that matter....what is going to syc back to? Nothing? In running the ap again this morning, I dont see any place to clear an activity and leave history. I think this is a long way off from being productive...

Re: BETA IN GENERAL

Hello ssi@telus.net,

I've checked on the IOS calendar and also the Android calendar and there aren't any places to clear and leave histories. The only options that you have are deleting and editing the activity that you've selected.

Re: BETA IN GENERAL

Hello Rodney.....can say anythng about IOS or the Android calendar as I hae not idea what they are.....I made reference to HHC and SalesForce. HHC is of course deisgned specifically for ACT. When you go to clear an activity it takes you to the history screen where you can leave history which syncs back to where it should be on the desktop.

Re: BETA IN GENERAL

ssi@telus.net  I'm not familiar with the software but I can check and see if a feature similar to that will be available. Being able to clear and create a history would be a good feature.

Re: BETA IN GENERAL

I think someone needs to try Handheld Contact....it is specific to ACT and far better than that DejaVu through Companion Link. Sad as they have always had good products. Anyways....look at HandHeld Contact.....and again Sales Force. Sales Forces program was perfect....smoot, quick etc....to costly
