Improve Smart Tasks

Smart Tasks should be able to operate on all members of a group. If I have created a group with complex criteria it makes sense to be able to operate on them all without re-writing the criteria

Smart Tasks should be able to run a Mail Merge. I want to be able to send emails using a template without using Swiftpage as m volume does not warrant a Swift page account

Email using Mail Merge - Set up preferences

I use the mail merge feature to send out and an email to each contact that I add throughout the day. It is the same every time and I never send it to multiple contacts.

Here are the steps to do a simple mail merge to a single contact:

Pull down the Write menu
Choose mail merge
Choose Email
Click Next
Browse to the email that I would like to send
Click next
Choose current contact
Click Next
Type the subject (even though it doesn't change each time)
Click Next
Set the missing email options
Click next
Click Finish

It would be nice if I could set up preferences for my commonly used mail merges, therefor when I create the mail merge I would set my options once and that is it.

The steps could look like this:

Pull down the Write menu
Choose Mail Merge
Choose the file (this page would have a check box that is checked by default signifying that you want to use your predefined settings for this file. If you uncheck it then you would go through the long setup)
Click finish

Seems to be a simple adjustment and would save a lot of clicks.

Suggest you stop confusing users by having mail merge fields called <Business Line 1>, <Business Line 2> in the default templates.

Not sure when this started, (or even, how it works?) but the fields on my screen are labelled Address 1, Address 2 etc , not Business Line 1, Business Line 2, so how yould you expect users to assume they are tthe same? And, of course, if you wish to add <Business Line 3> to a standard letter template from the Add Mail Merge Fields window you find it isn't there.

It's complicated enough without deliberately making it more so ! ;-)
