
Let's have Skype / VOIP integration built in and available straight out the box.
I can't remember when the "Dialer" functionality was introduced to ACT! It is potentially a really useful feature, especially as it also it triggers a history record. Unfortunately most people working in offices with business phone systems don't have access to a TAPI connection so can't take advantage of the feature.
Skype is not a fully fledged "enterprise level" application but it is ideal for the smaller organization and is available to anyone at minimal cost.

I found a freebie that allows you to call from ACT! using Skype. You can download the software from the 123-addons.com web site. It installs into your ACT! Toolbar and you can call your main phone number, mobile and other. It goes straight into Skype.

Due to modifications with the menus/toolbars in ACT! 2010, this product is not compatible with ACT! 2010!
So a integration with act skype build-in is required.
