
My Company is essentially a sales organization. ACT manages my database of prospects, many of whom are unassigned, but a few hundred are my current prospects for sales. Here's what I want to accomplish:
- Sync appts with my PDA/Smartphone
- Sync all current call backs so when an appt cancels, I can spend that time calling prospects.
If I do a standard calendar sync to Outlook from ACT, ACT's fields that transfer to Outlook do not provide ANY of the following intuitively: Name, Address, City, State, Zip. Notes are transfered fine. My workaround has been to place the name of the client I'm meeting in the "Regarding" field, the address info in the "Location" field, and phone number in the "Details" section of the meeting dialog.
Call-backs- my work-around has been to manually put the contact's phone # in the details of the call dialog.
PRINT-OUTS- I have been completely unsuccessful, also, in getting ACT to give me a hard-copy of all calls I should make that day in a short, succinct manner. I have about 100 calls a day to make and I certainly don't want a 25 page printout--- 1 page with just a name, ph#, and notes would be excellent. Haven't found that, though.
For my Company--- ACT is a very sophisticated box of 3X5 cards. I don't need it to provide quotes to clients. I need it to be able to manage call-backs for salepeople. Through sync with Outlook would be the best--- printed copy is important, too. Thanks!
Thanks for this input - We're looking at further Outlook integration as a feature enhancement so your experience here has been helpful in bringing out some of the short coming of the current feature.
Also, valuable feedback on a hard copy succinct call list for the day. We've recently conducted some customer research that really brought home how people continue to use hard copy and printed materials in support of their business day. Sometimes it's easy to mistakenly assume all of our customers are technology loving paper haters but that's not the case at all!
