ACT! Installer SHOULD DO A CHECK/ALERT if OFFICE 64 Bit is installed.

Status: Available in Act! v18

It would be appreciated and more proactive if the Act! installer did a check and alert wherever the 64bit version of Office is installed.  This way, the Act! installation could be halted until the Office 32bit reinstalled instead, rather than needing to start all over again after Act! is installed, learning this when at the final Outlook configuration stage.

Status: Available in Act! v18

This feature was introduced with Act! v18. Thanks for the suggestion.

 Hi Paul,
Thanks for bringing this up! The development team is working on getting this included in the upcoming v18.0 release.

Maybe Swiftpage will give consideration to creating a 64bit version of ACT.

It would also be useful to have an alert for a "Click to Run" install or a full online version.

 That's excellent Gary.

A few questions, then, since we've yet to come across this...

- Does this exist with all 3 Act! editions? (Pro, Prem, Act for Web Server)

- At what point does it check, and how does it alert?

Have not tested it myself, but have seen it work in practice - once - so it can work.

MM, what was your testing environment like?
