Is it possible to link an xcel file to Tab content?

Running ACT! by Sage for Financial Professionals Version 12.1.0.181x30,  Which I think is actually Version 10.

If you know how to do this, could you point me in the right direction?  Thanks,

In ACT, I have a tab called "Products". I would like to add a link (or a file attachment of) to that spreadsheet, in that products tab. Can that be done?

You could use the Documents Tab
You could create a Group, link the Excel file there and link the Contacts
You could create a field on a tab as a URL and enter something like one of these:
file://C:\folderpath\sheetname.xls
file://machinename\pathc\file.xls

That would be great. What kind of filed would I use? If it's a URL, wouldn't it need to be in HTM? I'm not that literate in creating these types of things... Is there a "how to" on this subject?

A URL field starting with file: will find any local file and open it with whatever the file extension is associated with

Yep. I guess I just dont get it. I defined a new field and selected the URL option in the drop down choices. When I attempted to enter a description that includes ; or // any symbols to create the path, I get an error message that says "invalid symbols"

Oh well. Thanks for your help.  I need to find an ACT consultant locally to help me with this and  a few other layout issues.

It's a colon (2 dots) not a semi-colon (dot-comma)

Any ACC should be able to help you with this pretty quickly
