difficulty setting up email on act! 2011

I am unable to set up act email.   for Act! 2011 Pro

 

(i am using windows 7 premium my computer is 4 months old

 

i have set the incoming (pop3) and the outgooing according to my email source.   (godaddy)

 

noticed that I am unable to set or change the port settings. 

 

the tech support people told me that I needed to be certain the incoming port settings are 110, and outgoing is 25.

 

i do not have access to this setting under the current status of setting up email.

This is a limitation of the Act! internet email client.

 

Sage's workaround suggests to use Outlook as your client.

Hello Haberdasher1,

Welcome to the ACT! Online Community!

 

Here is an article that explains the limitations of the ACT! internet mail setup: KB Article 22985.  You can try contacting GoDaddy to see if they can set your email to use ports 25 and 110.  If not, the recommended work-around is to set up Outlook with GoDaddy and then integrate Outlook with ACT! (as Scott mentioned).

thanks for the note, i don't have outlook

 

i have the basic Office 2007,  the student and teacher edition. 

 

outlook not included.  do you have any other ideas? 

 

i love act! but unable to use the email to my clients.

 

i have owned act sinc 1996.  please help me.

All my email settings are correct, and the right ports are being used, yet I can not send or receive my email through GoDaddy

I am using ACT 2011 on a computer that is less than a week old, running Windows 7 Professional.

The GoDaddy rep verified that all is well at their end and that the settings are correct.

I am able to establish an internet connection, but not incomming, or outgoing mail.

 

I notice I am not the only one to have this problem.

 

Does anyone have an answer?

Hi Tim - I have the same problem.  There are other posts with users annoyed because it does not seem to work.  Sage ACT! Support has been relatively silent on the subject so they must not have a fix.  If you've corrected it on your side I would like to hear how/what you did.  Thanks, Todd
