ACT 2010
Windows 7 Enterprise
Outlook 2007 SP2
I am getting the error "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt." when I click on write eMail. I am connected to Outlook.
I can write an eMail and file it in ACT but I can't click in ACT and start an eMail.
The research I did on the board didn't disclose an answer that I could find.
Can anyone help me?

Here is an article with steps for resolving this issue: Attempted to read or write protected memory
Since you are running a Win7 OS, first try running Act! 'as Admin' (right click on Act! icon > select Run as Admin).

Thank you Greg; however, I still get the error message: Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
I followed the steps in the knowledgebase article:
1. Ran regsvr32 redemption.dll
2. Renamed all the normal.dotm
3. Ran sfc /scannow -- found 1 problem and it fixed it.
I am a keyboarder and frequently type very fast. As a result, sometimes I hit the wrong keys and may have caused the problem without knowing what I did.
Do you have any other suggestions? Needless to say, not being able to select Write E-Mail will impact my productivity.
Thanks in advance for your or anyone else's suggestions.

hello John,
This week, the same problem apeared om our terminalserver. the problem was the update to office 2007 SP2. After uninstalling Office 2007 and reinstalling it without SP2, the problem was gone.
Hopefully this is helpfull
