These things are usually SQL related ... there are more skills with some consultants I know.

But, as I said, for a conversion issue Sage should do it free... I think - Although the rules are different in different countries

Re: Problem with ACT V7 to ACT V13

The helpdesk in Paris told me to see directly the ACT website (administrated in the US. It seems that there isn't any other possibility). That I saw is that the fee depends on the  database's size (number of contacts) but I would be charged only if they succeed.

How do the guys you know work ? How can I give them the dammaged database ? What about the confidentiality ? How much time do they need to repair the database ? How can I pay ? Is it possible to have an invoice ?

Thank you for your answer and your help.

Regards,

Christine

No blanket statement available, it will be dependent upon the situation.  The issue would have to be reviewed by the Database Services group to determine fee/no fee.

Re: Problem with ACT V7 to ACT V13

Hello Mike,

After sending my database to the ACT! Database service in the US, they reply the answer below.

I ran Database Schema update script against your database and it ran successfully without any errors. You can see from screen shot below.

[...]

At this point, I do not see any issues with database and it did upgrade correctly. You will need to go back to ACT Support in France and have them fix issue with SYNC that is not related to conversion.

What do you think about that ? Do you think the ACT support in France can help me ? They seem not to know what to do...

Thanks,

Christine

Re: Problem with ACT V7 to ACT V13

They're saying it's not an update issue, but a sync one.

I'd try downloading ACTDIAG v14 from the KB and running all the repairs on the databases - especially the Sync Objects, then try again

Also have a look at the sync log for any errors.

If still failing, I'd get a locl ACT! Consultant to look at it for you... they are often better at these than local Sage support
