How to reduce display size of fields

Happy new year...

In ACT! v19 the fields are displayed larger than in v16. I have the Basic Contact Layout set at 800x600. I'm still running v16 on my other machine and have it also set at 800x600 but the fields in it. How can I reduce the display size in v19? BTW, it was also large in v18.

Thank you.

Re: How to reduce display size of fields

Hi Danny,

Layouts can be edited in the layout designer. Here's a knowledgebase article that explains how to use it: http://kb.act.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/15332
You can also get help by pressing F1 while in the layout editor.

To resize all the fields in your layout, you can Ctrl+Click to select multiple fields, then resize them together.

Re: How to reduce display size of fields

Thank you, Gary.

I think I didn't do a good job in phrasing my question. My interpretation of your reply is that the article you referenced provides instructions on how to change the size of fields, that is, change how many characters it will hold. I want to know how to zoom in the fields so that more will appear on screen.

Thanks again.

Re: How to reduce display size of fields

Hi Danny,

Sorry for any unclarity. There isn't any function to zoom a layout to increase or decrease the physical size of the fields. In order to change the size of how fields appear, the layout must be edited, and the field size increased or decreased.

Try editing your desired contact layout(tools/design layout/ contact), click on desired field/fields in the layout editor and make font size smaller for that specific field/fields.

also you may need to use Tools/Define fields option and increase size of field as far as number of characters in that field?

I don't know how much you have added to the layout you are currently using but I forgot to mention,

This sort of issue is why I developed Big ACT Layouts - you can still modify these Big layouts just as you can modify the existing ones.
