I just purchased a new computer uses Vista 64 bit. It does not have an internal modem. I used to be able to access ACT dialer thru the phone jacks on the tower.
Obviously I can't do that any more. I do have a fax/phone line that operates and an all in one printer that is able to fax but when I go to set up
Windows dialer there doesn't seem to be any recognition of whatever kind of modem it is that I have. Is this a wiring issue?
I have the fax/phone line of my 2 line phone connected directly to the wall modem. I have searched the questions on this site but don't see one
that answeres this directly.

Art, you probably need to find if the "all in one" has a Windows modem driver - see in Control Panel | Phone and Modem options | Modem Tab
Also see the Advanced Tab to see if it has a TAPI provider installed

I talked to US Robotics and they do not have a 2-port voice modem (one port for "phone" and one port for "line") that will work with Vista 64 bit. In fact, I can't find a USB 2-port voice modem from any manufacturer that will work with Vista 64 bit.
The only thing I can find is a serial port modem from Multi-Tech. Do you know if a serial port modem will work for ACT telephony?
