Re: ACT 2013 vs Outlook 2013 sync incompatibility

If you look in the directory "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\Office15", are there a lot of files in there (200+), including the .exe files for each of the Office 2013 apps (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)?

If you have a 64-bit operating system and you installed the full 32-bit version of Office 2013, then the expectation is that the you should have all those files in that directory. The interface error you are getting is the same one I get trying to sync with the streaming version of Office 2013. With that type of install, there are only a few files in the Office15 program directory, like this:

office2013files.jpg

ACT! cannot sync with this type of install, as the needed components are not present on the machine.

Note: If you have a 32-bit operating system, or if installed the 64-bit version of Office, the file path would C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 15

So, is there no solution or patch available to run the email? What options are available?

Re: ACT 2013 vs Outlook 2013 sync incompatibility

I too am having the same problem.

Windows 8 64bit

Office 365 Home Premium- 32bit  <-- This is a full version downloaded program that is on my machine. I use it offline. It is NOT streamed.

I used to have 64bit Office installed and there are a number of files in that location. There are not in the Programsx86 Office folder.

It is quite frustrating. Could you please look into the different versions of Office and provide some feedback?

Re: ACT 2013 vs Outlook 2013 sync incompatibility

Referring to my earlier post - the executables seem to be located in the following directory:

C:/Windows/ProgramData/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu/Programs/Office2013/

ProgramData is not a typing error.

Hello mbrown8767,
Welcome to the ACT! Community. There are a couple things you stated that stand out:
1. Office 365: this a cloud version of Office, not a full install. ACT! cannot integrate with Office 365
2. No files in Program Files (x86) folder: This means either you have not installed the full version, or you have installed the 64-bit version. In either case, ACT! cannot integrate as it requires the full 32-bit install of Office.

Re: ACT 2013 vs Outlook 2013 sync incompatibility

According to Mircosoft, Office 2013 and Office Pro 2013 are only downloaded in 32 bit by their recommendation. You must make a special effort to get the 64 bit version.  The Office 32 bit version is a full install of the "click-to-run" version and this is the only format it is available in per Microsoft. It would seem that SAGE would have already known this and would already have a patch available to its users to rectify this issue. It is disappointing that has not occurred.

Try Act Hot Fix 3. It may help.
