Act 2010 - restore database password

Hi - this is my first post so apologies is this isnt the best!

I recently had vista home premium reinstalled on my pc and have reloaded ACT. When I try to restore my database I'm being asked for the database name and password. I have never used either of these previously. Quite simply I don't know what to do. ANY help would be very much appreciated.

Well, on a restore, I think you're always asked for any password, whether or not you assigned one.  Try just clicking through that dialog box without entering a password.

Re: Act 2010 - restore database password

Thanks for the response. I have restored before as I have it on my laptop and desktop and dependent upon which I'm using will restore from one to the other. I have never been asked for a password before and have certainly never assigned one. Things I'm reading talk about SQL and that is enough to frighten me off.

It wont let me open it with variations of my name which is something else which was suggested.

Again, if anyone could help I'd really appreciate it.
