Migrating and updating from v6 to 2010 on different machine.

I have a client with v6 on an XP machine and we would like to migrate his data to a win7 box that will be running Act2010.  Is this possible?  Do I migrate the database to the new machine and run the 2010 update installer against that?

My experience with Act is pretty limited but I am a well-seasoned IT guy.

Thanks.

Run the ACT! 6.0 database repair and reindex tools first, then copy the database to the new machine and open it.

See this ACT! Knowledge Base article -
