We had a person unfamiliar with ACT enter First and Last names into the same field (First.) When I noticed and asked that they be made separate fields, the person changed the title of a System Field (Last Reach) to Last Name and began entering names there (I still don't know how the person was able to do that!)
Consequently, we then had two "Last Name" Fields, and when a back up was done, it became impossible to put the correct Last Name field into a layout, and we can't delete the info incorrectly typed into the system field .
Can anyone give me a clue as to how to fix this?

I would have to examine the database to make any suggestions.

I'm not sure I can get permission for that. If I can get approval, how would we arrange that?
