Opportunities - Automatic Numbering of Opportunities

It would be great if we could have the ability to have Opportunities given a unique number upon creation, preferably with the ability to set in place some prefix or suffix data that allows the Opportunity to be related to the type of opportunity or the numerical sequence required. (i.e. 9 - 12345 followed by the Opportunity Short Title)

If this same number could be used for the Quote Reference and and even Job Numbers to make management of the opportunity and searching easier .

We needed the same feature and used a third part add-on, Exponenciel AutoNumber. It is inexpensive and has worked very well for us. http://www.exponenciel.com

Durkin Computing had a very good feature that met this requirement in their Opportunity Plus Add-On. The product worked well in prvious versions of ACT! but the new version compatible is still to be released.

The features provided in Opportunity Plus are much more useful and user friendly than the current Opportunities Tab in the ACT! 2010 release.
