Community Forum Usage Guidelines
Welcome to Sage Community Forums! Sage Software, Inc. provides this Forum as a service to its ACT! customers to help them discuss ACT! by Sage products, by exchanging ideas, tips, information and techniques related to those products. This forum is here for the enjoyment and benefit of all members and is accessible to all who register and are 18 years of age or older. Like any community, these types of forums are most valuable when everyone obeys certain basic guidelines and rules for online behavior. These guidelines and rules are presented here so that you know what is expected of you and what you can expect from other participants when using the Sage Community Forums. By registering, you agree to follow these Usage Guidelines.
1. Keep it relevant.
For everyone's benefit, please stay on topic. The Forum is specifically provided to allow users and customers of Sage Software to help each other in using ACT! by Sage software. Please refrain from discussing personal matters, abusing any company or product, or, in general, from posting in a manner unrelated to the resolution of issues regarding ACT! by Sage Software.
2. Keep it courteous.
Everyone wants to have a positive experience while on the Forum - please make sure that you are not detracting from any other user's experience. In particular, please refrain from posting anything unlawful, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, lewd, harassing, threatening, harmful, invasive of privacy or publicity rights, abusive, inflammatory or otherwise objectionable or injurious to third parties. Your opinions are always welcome, but personal attacks and harassment ("flaming") in either the Forum or through private messaging is not acceptable.
3. Keep it spam-free.
This community is provided as a service to Sage Software customers and is not intended for the promotion of third party services, products, websites, or organizations. Please refrain from posting content that would constitute advertising, junk mail, spam, chain letters, or any other form of unauthorized solicitation.
4. Keep it legal.
It is unacceptable to post any material (i) that would infringe on any patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright, or other proprietary rights of any party, (ii) that contains software viruses or any other computer code or files that are designed to disrupt, damage, or limit the functioning of any software or hardware, (iii) that is deemed to be illegal by any local, state, federal, or international law, rule or regulation, or (iv) that suggests or encourages illegal activity.
5. Be careful.
Most people are happy to help out on this Forum, but remember that their advice is theirs only and that you are responsible for deciding whether to follow it. If the advice given by a user sounds wrong to you, do not try it. You should not post personal information on this Forum including your name and address, age, or phone number. Furthermore, if any user asks you for personal information, such as an account number, address, password or credit card number, do not provide it.
6. Keep confidential information confidential.
You may not use the Forum to disseminate or discuss any confidential information of you, your company, Sage Software or any other person or entity. You are solely responsible to ensure that anything you post does not contain information that may be deemed confidential by a third party. This includes any proprietary information, trade secrets, and the terms or existence of Sage Software related agreements, nondisclosure agreements, sales or service agreements or other information that may be deemed confidential.
7. Sage Software retains the right to remove content and limit users' access.
Sage Software does not generally edit or monitor content posted by participants in its Forum. However, Sage Software retains the right, at its sole discretion, to limit users' access to the Forum and to remove material that, in Sage Software's sole judgment, does not comply with the current Usage Guidelines, or that is otherwise inappropriate for this Forum, harmful, objectionable, or inaccurate. Sage Software also retains the right to assign such right to some members of the Forum community. Sage Software is not responsible for any failure or delay in removing such material. Moderators may take any action they deem necessary in their own judgment to support the Usage Guidelines, and, in general, prohibit content that can detract from the experience of other users or the purpose of the support community. Such actions may include editing or deleting material and banning individual users.
Violation of the Usage Guidelines or other terms could result in the suspension or termination of your access to these services. If your account is suspended, you will not be able to sign in.
8. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability.
Members like you are providing most of the material in the Forum. Such third-party content is the sole responsibility of the person originating the material. Sage Software does not control and is not responsible for this third-party material.
Sage Software does not warrant or guarantee the accuracy, reliability, completeness, usefulness, non-infringement on intellectual property rights, or quality of any material that appears in the Forum, regardless of who originates that material. You expressly understand and agree that you bear all risks associated with using or relying on the material. Sage Software will not be liable or responsible in any way for any content in the Forum, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in the material, or for any losses or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of or reliance on any material.
