I have recently upgraded from 2006 version to 2008 version.  I have my main office computer and a lap top and the lap top had the remote database on and I had no problems putting it on or synchronising it.

I have now got Act Premium v10 and have managed to do the remote database okay but when I am trying to restore it on my lap top it just says

"C;\-----------------------.ADF is compressed but does not reside in a read-only database or file group.  The file must be decompressed.  CREATE DATABASE is aborted.

Can anyone help as I am about to give up.

Kudos!

Browse to that location and view the file specified. If it's written in blue, it's copressed.

Right click, choose properties, then advanced and uncheck the box to compress the file

Found the solution.

From "My Computer" icon in your desktop find the database files that are giving you the problem.

Right click on the icons, click on properties, click on the Advanced button and make sure the "Compress contents to save disk space" box is not checked.

Click on Apply and OK afterwards.  Do it to all the files by the same name.

Good luck.
