I am in the process of moving ACT from one server to another. After I installed ACT on the new server I restored a backup database and started testing the web version of ACT. After a couple of logins I get the error "An error has occurred on the server and has been logged. Please contact your administrator if this problem persists.". When I check the event log it tells me "error occured on pageAct.Web.Framework Message:Unexpected session state encountered. Either the session was empty  or the ACT! Framework could not be accessed."

I have a valid serial # and 15 licenses.

ACT! by Sage Premium 2009 (11.0) Version 11.1.183.0, Hotfix 1

English United States

Can someone please point me in the right direction.

Kudos!

Hello kclausen,

Some questions regarding the issue:

- What version of IIS are you using?

- Are you using a custom virtual directory for ACT! for Web or the default "APFW" under the Default Web Site?

- Does this server host multiple web sites, or just ACT! for Web?

- Are you able to open the website locally on the web server by browsing to http://localhost/[directory], where "directory" is the virtual directory for ACT! for Web (by default "APFW")?

I have IIS 6.0.3790.3959

I am also using the default APFW directory under Default Web Site

This server will be dedicated to just act for web.

Yes I can open the website http://localhost/APFW/ and I can login, I can also go to other computers on the same network and manually key the ip address to access it as well (example http://192.168.0.12/APFW or use the alias http://actserver/APFW)

I look forward to your feedback

Thanks

Kudos!
