My lookups are so slow I've usually finished the phone call before ACT has found the customer. Because I have the attention span of a flea I've had to resort to writing a record down on paper and adding it to ACT when it eventually finds the client. Bring on the hotfix!

You'll be pleased to learn that HotFix 2 is now available! http://kb.sagesoftwareonline.com/cgi-bin/sagesoftwareonline.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=25495 Also, the new ACT! 2010 installation includes a slipstream upgrade feature that provides the latest updates to ACT! during setup, regardless of which install pack you use. Having installed this hotfix on several of my machines I am pleased to report that the performance is great, AND it only patches the program and does not convert the data at all. This means less hassles for users with a lot of subscriber databases.

Very very slow yet. I just installed an upgrade from ACT 6 to ACT 2010. If ACT 6 ran on our newest 64 bit Vista OS I'd still be there. I have to say that I'm VERY disappointed with the slowness of this system, and this is an installation reflecting the hotfix discussed here. Anyone else using the most recent version (hotfix 2) and still running slowly? I was able to create a login and post this message in the time it took to clear one activity in ACT 2010. On to a search for web-based CRM...

Rescheduling an existing activity: 2 minutes 19 seconds Going to a single record from the alarm window: 9 seconds Clear activity after scheduling a followup: 1 minute 16 seconds Cleared an activity: 1 minute 10 seconds (thankfully I started to leave my voicemail message right away ... that took 30 seconds!) Cleared an activity with details after scheduling a followup: 3 minutes 1 second You don't really know how long 10 seconds or a minute is until you have to sit through what used to happen almost instantly. I feel like I'm living my life in slow motion. I feel like I'm in the early days of the Internet on a 300 baud modem ... right here on my desktop. I can't even begin to express how much this slowness has disrupted my day/week. :-(

Any updates on any additional "hotfix" for the slowness of the search and clearing of activities?
Thank you, Ann

Hot fix 2 only addressed lookup performance issues. New in Hot Fix 2
| Area |
Description |
What the Fix Does |
| Performance |
Users see slow response time when opening a database or performing a lookup on a database that contains a large
number of fields. |
Enables layouts to refresh more quickly. |
To the folks having performance issues rescheduling activities, try with a different database, purging old cleared activities, and database maintenance. David Lunceford Community Moderator, ACT! Sage Business Solutions
